As a part of suffering from retrograde amnesia due to a cannon ball strike to the head, the majority of Monte's upbringing had been forgotten. Therefore, he has no backstory that he can recall.
Notes
— Waking up in a muddy field next to a large pile of bodies, a dented helmet, and a cannon ball lying next to him on the ground, Monte suffered an extreme version of retrograde amnesia.
— Monte has an inkling connection to shamanism. He spends the rest of his life actively pursuing these connections and enhancing them. However, he hides the fact that he is a shaman as he assumes that's why he was attacked prior to his reawakening.
— Unbeknownst to Monte, his prior name was Fafner Adelman. Monte never figures this out in his life time as there are no records of his name and his village was wiped out.
— Monte owns a trading post on each continent and employs shopkeeps to maintain them while he travels between each. He acts as a general manager. He got into this business trying to rediscover himself, trading items for information. He ended up making a business out of it learning no one actually knew anything about him.
— Because of his large stature, he wields a large axe and a ship cannon, which he hip fires in battle. His performances with the cannon has earned him the nickname Ironside.
