The drums of war always droned through the iced over village of Brunnhildar. Peace had always been just out of reach for it's denizens. Storm Peaks was as rough as anyone could imagine, a mountainous frozen wasteland only home to violence, drakes, and snow. The old wooden homes crafted by families centuries ago withstood the abuse of the elements. Within these homes, a matriarchy brewed. The Half Elven Vrykul bore home to Brunnhildar, waging war against those who sought it's destruction and those who wished to plunder it's land. Wendy was raised by her mother Kressata as both an aspect of war as well as a chosen for ritualistic ascension to bear the Rune of Ledyre. The Rune of Ledyre is an ancient relic amongst a set of twelve other runes. These runes are held by the families within Brunnhildar, which has been secured through the original plunder of the village centuries prior. It was Wendy's familiar duty to learn how to use the stone to take on a draconic form. This form would only be used in battle for assuring victory, as it had been used for years prior. Combat was nothing new to the matriarchy within the village. Women as young as toddlers were trained for war. The men of the village were either used as unarmed fodder for training, sent away to slave away in mines, or if they had good genetics, used for reproduction. Everyone except for infants were expected to fight. The lessons were often brutal, leaving the weak permanently maimed or scarred. Those found to be too weak to fight were often honorably killed to be judged by Odyn of worthiness for a Val'kyr ascension. The weight of honor was heavy on Wendy's shoulders. She simply could not avoid conflict, much to her dismay. Her entire means of survival would be through various trials. Many of her peers taunted her because of her unwillingness to end the lives of her foe. Wendy went on to bring great shame to her family because of her cowardice in slaying another soul. As she approached adulthood, the torment from her peers finally pushed Wendy over the edge. After mastering the Rune of Ledyre, she used her draconic powers during a sparring match to burn the face of one of her tormentors. The others tried to stop her but she couldn't hold herself back. In all, she burnt four of her peers. The elders within the village decided to banish her to the icy wasteland, never to return. Years had gone by, Wendy had been rotting away in the hellscape far outside the village. Without the Rune of Ledyre, she had to fight for survival on foot with only her sword. She had forcefully expelled a family of bears from their den and made home there. Her hatred towards those who taunted her festered. Many nights were spent screaming in agonizing mental turmoil. A fair nights rest was far out of reach for Wendy. She began to grow tired, even looking at her own sword to be the only way out of this wasteland. Nightfall overcame the village of Brunnhildar. Pushed past the brink of insanity, Wendy acquired the Rune of Ledyre by slicing through her sleeping family and taking what was rightfully hers. Under the guise of darkness, Wendy took on her draconic aspect. She unleashed a salvo of fire and raw draconic magic upon the villagers. Wendy soared back and forth, ensuring everyone who tried to flee was eliminated. No one else had to suffer at the cost of the Brunnhildar matriarchy. Wendy felt as if she accomplished a feat that no one else had been able to do prior. However, even after all was said and done, she still felt wronged, she was still angered. Bothered that those she slayed had an easy death. Moving onwards, Wendy only had one current desire: more power to ensure that the Brunnhildar Vrykul never be reborn again.
Notes
— Wendy possesses the Stone of Ledyre, which allows her to shift into a draconic form and take on ancient draconic powers. Although the stone grants immense power, the fatigue that comes with use is extraordinarily cumbersome.
— The Stone of Ledyre has etched draconic tattoo's into Wendy's skin.
— Wendy dawns a modified Vrykul matriarchy regalia. The regalia she wears is based on the environment she is in.
— Wendy is often abrassive in conversation. She only initiates if there is something for her to gain. She can come off as bossy but with those who are persistent, she can be tolerable.
